Oleg Nikolenko, representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, urges in his Facebook post to “provide proper medical care” to Mikheil Saakashvili.
“Georgian politicians are spreading various insinuations in order to avoid responsibility for gross violations of human rights in Georgia. Ukraine has never interfered and does not plan to interfere in Georgia"s domestic affairs.
At the same time, we are deeply disappointed that the Georgian Government is speculating on the topic of war in Ukraine in order to achieve its narrow domestic political goals.
We repeat the call to allow the Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine see Mikheil Saakashvili. I also urge you to provide proper medical care to the Ukrainian citizen, as well as to meet the request for a postponement of his sentence in order to transfer him to one of the clinics in Ukraine, Western Europe or US for further treatment”, - writes Nikolenko.
