Irakli Garibashvili visits the NEOM region under construction and the ancient city of Diriyah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Within the scope of a visit to Saudi Arabia, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, together with his delegation, visited the project of the NEOM region under construction.

Detailed information about the city’s ongoing construction and the project as a whole was provided to Irakli Garibashvili by Faisal Alibrahim, Minister of Economy and Planning of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

NEOM, a region being built in Tabuk Province in Saudi Arabia, extends 170 kilometers.

The project is designed to create 460,000 jobs and increase the country’s GDP by 48 billion USD.

The project of this futuristic city is part of the multibillion NEOM project. The city incorporates working, residential, and recreation areas.

The futuristic linear city will have no highways, cars, or emission, instead running 100% on renewable energy.

The city gives priority to health and wellbeing over transport and infrastructure.

The Head of Government, together with the delegation, also visited the ancient city of Diriyah, Salwa Palace of the first Imam, and the At-Turaif Complex where the first rulers resided, also the Museum of Arabian Horses related to the name of Abdulaziz Al Saud, Founding King of Saudi Arabia.
