The Parliament of Georgia hosted the awarding ceremony – with the nomination of the Speaker and based on the Decree of the President of Georgia, the Doctor of Legal Science, Professor Otar Gamkrelidze was awarded the Order of Honor.

Shalva Papuashvili congratulated the Professor on the 90th jubilee and the 60th anniversary of his scientific activity.

“It is a special day since we have the chance to outline the merit of Mr. Otar Gamkrelidze in jurisprudence, his role in science and his efforts as a pedagogue educating the generations. This day is also of high importance for us, the Parliament since the President, with the nomination of the Parliament, awards a dignified member of our society the Order of Honor. At the same time, we thank President for the opportunity for me personally to, on her behalf, deliver this high order. It is also very symbolic that the first person who is nominated by the Parliament to this order is a lawyer as this symbolism should be adhered to in the Parliament”, - said the Speaker.
