Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President/Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai.
The Head of Government congratulated Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on the successful organization of the World Government Summit and emphasized the importance of Georgia’s participation in the summit. As Irakli Garibashvili noted, at the World Government Summit he had an opportunity to present the country’s potential as a regional link between the East and the West.
It was noted at the meeting that Georgia and the United Arab Emirates enjoy dynamic bilateral cooperation, and it is important to further deepen the existing productive economic cooperation.
The Prime Minister briefed Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Georgia’s favorable investment environment and underscored the importance of attracting Arab investments into the country.
As Irakli Garibashvili pointed out, one of the priorities of the Georgian Government is to make use of the country’s advantageous geographic location and business climate to strengthen its transit function. The close cooperation between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates is important for promoting digital ties through their territories between Europe and Asia.
After the meeting, Head of the Administration of the Georgian Government Revaz Javelidze and UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Sharing Experience in the Development and Modernization of State Governance between the two countries.
