Speaker of the Parliament congratulates the citizens on the day of adoption of the first Constitution of Georgia.

“On February 21, 1921, the founding assembly of the independent Democratic Republic of Georgia adopted the country’s first Constitution.

The Constitution existed for only 4 days, but it was one of the most progressive and advanced legal-political documents of its time, which took a worthy place in the history of world Constitutionalism.

The current edition of the Constitution of Georgia is based on the spirit of the first Constitution and represents the foundation of the European values of Georgia.

I congratulate all citizens, friends and supporters of our country on this most important date in the modern history of Georgia!”, - writes Shalva Papuashvili.
