Chairman of Georgian Dream responds to the first anniversary of the start of the Russia-Ukraine war on his Facebook page.

“One year ago, Ukraine was beset by a great tragedy, which the Ukrainian people did not deserve!

As a result of the war, tens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians died, including more than 450 children, which is the most painful. 16 million Ukrainians became refugees and displaced persons. The war destroyed Ukraine’s economy and infrastructure.

Before the start of the war, we had said that the international community should do everything to prevent this war and avoid the greatest tragedy. However, unfortunately, Russian military aggression still took place.

Ukrainian soldiers and volunteers are heroically fighting for the independence and territorial integrity of their country!

I bow before their heroism and dedication! I wish our friendly Ukrainian people independence and restoration of territorial integrity! Слава Українi!”, - writes Irakli.
