The Election Administration continues its work to offer voters a highly administered election on April 29. At the new briefing held today, the Spokesperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Natia Ioselian, noted that it is essential for the Election Administration to conduct open and transparent elections and provide comprehensive election-related information to electoral stakeholders.
“I would like to remind you that after appointing the By-elections and extraordinary elections, one of the most important procedures related to the election process has been launched in the CEC and relevant District Election Commissions, and it refers to the process of registration of election subjects, which will allow them to participate in the elections. At the moment, three electoral subjects are registered in the CEC.
According to the election legislation, there are different rules and deadlines for participating in By-elections and extraordinary elections, as well as for nominating candidates. Detailed information and relevant legislative acts regarding the registration of election subjects are posted on the CEC website. Interested persons can get information at the relevant District Election Commissions, as well as through the CEC contact hub at the number - 2 51 00 51.
On April 29, the By-elections of the Parliament of Georgia and municipal councils, as well as the extraordinary elections of the Mayor, will be held through the utilization of electronic technologies. The Election Administration calls on the political parties to timely go through the relevant registration procedures if they wish to participate in the elections and urges them to facilitate the democratic conduct of the election process together with the Election Administration. On April 29, it will be the first occasion when the CEC ensures such large-scale utilization of election technologies in the election process. It is important for all electoral stakeholders to make their own contribution to the successful implementation of this important process in the history of Georgian elections”, - said the CEC spokesperson.
We would like to remind you that 91% of the total number of voters will participate in the polling through using voter verification, voting and counting devices. The ballot papers in the remaining precincts will be digitized, uploaded to the appropriate platform, and will be available to all interested parties.
