Chaired by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, a Government meeting was held today. The Cabinet of Ministers discussed 9 topics.
Among the discussed topics was the Draft Ordinance of the Georgian Government on Measures to Be Taken by Some Municipalities, which envisages renovation and restoration of municipal buildings and facilities.
The preliminary study conducted by the municipalities identified 1,263 buildings and facilities disfiguring the appearance of the municipalities and requiring renovation and reconstruction and, in some cases, demolition.
Consequently, on the Georgian Government’s decision, the municipalities were authorized to carry out necessary renovation, reconstruction, or demolition works within their respective administrative borders on buildings and facilities that disfigure the appearance of the municipalities or create safety problems.
Necessary work in this direction will be launched by the municipalities as early as this year.
