The members of the opposition have reacted to an interview given by Georgia’s Prime Minister to the TV company “Imedi”.
Mikheil Daushvili from the “For Georgia” party, said that [Bidzina] Ivanishvili conveyed through Irakli Garibashvili’s statement that they have not acknowledged their errors and were intentionally carrying out pro-Russian activities.
Iago Khvichia, an MP from the “Girchi”, criticized the Garibshvili’s assertion that the March 7-9 rally was orchestrated by the opposition with intentions of a revolution: “It seems that the Georgian Dream didn’t understand anything. The opposition has nothing to do with it. People did not ask the Government to change course. It would not be surprising if they talked about revolution, however, I did not see any politician who talked about it”.
The leader of Strategy Agmashenebeli, Giorgi Vashadze, condemned Prime Minister’s remarks and said: “We have seen how brazenly and cowardly he refers to young people, how he threatens them. No one is afraid of his threat”.
The position of the Head of the Government is shared by the ruling party. The members of the parliamentary majority emphasize that the country was in real danger and some political groups tried to develop a revolutionary scenario of street protests.
