What Georgian Dream sent is facade and on such a small scale that it cannot respond to the recommendations of the EU - Ana Natsvilishvili

What Georgian Dream sent is facade and on such a small scale that it cannot respond to the recommendations of the European Union. Such a statement made MP from the Lelo, Ana Natsvilishvili, while responding to the conclusion of the Venice Commission on the Draft Law on De-oligarchization and Judicial Reform.

“Chairman of the Parliament shamelessly lied when he told the public that positive conclusions had arrived. I have both conclusions, 2 proofs that Georgian Dream does not intend to fulfill the recommendations of the EU, and both draft laws prepared by them are aimed not at obtaining status, but at not getting it.

In relation to the judicial reform, it is emphasized in the conclusion that the European Commission recommends implementing a large-scale reform, including in the Council of Justice, and not only, while what Georgian Dream sent is facade and on such a small scale that it cannot respond to the recommendations of the EU, nor to the previous 4 critical issues specified in the conclusions of the Venice Commission.

The second bill is about de-oligarchization, in relation to which the Commission says that Georgian Dream presented is a personalized approach, while the EU Commission prefers and recommends a systemic approach. It is directly written in the conclusion that the personified approach can be used as a mechanism of persecution and repression, especially in the conditions of such a weak democracy as Georgia.

If [Shalva] Papuashvili finds a positive paragraph in both of these conclusions, he should show it to us publicly!

The fact is, the ruling party lied during these months. It was creating a simulation of the work process, the result of which we saw. This conclusion directly states that not only will the recommendation not be implemented, but it can be dangerous since it can be turned into a repression mechanism and can be another sabotage for Georgia on its way to the EU”, - said Ana Natsvlishvili.
