Giorgi Amilakhvari becomes the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia. According to the Prime Minister, he is sure that Amilakhvari will be a successful minister.

During his presentation, Irakli Garibashvili spoke about Giorgi Amilakhvari’s education and career achievements.

“Giorgi Amilakhvari is a very successful person. He has a very good, decent education. He studied in the USA, then in Germany. He worked on his dissertation at the Max Planck Research Institute in Hamburg, Germany.

He has the degree of Doctor of Laws and is an associate professor. Amilakhvari has successful work experience. He is the founder of one of the most successful universities, during his rectorship this university achieved many successes and is one of the very good examples of how a young, motivated person should create a very modern, European, western quality university”, - said the Head of the Government.

Giorgi Amilakhvari replaced Mikheil Chkhenkeli as the Minister of Education of Georgia.

Until now, he held the position of the Chairman of the Education and Science Committee of the Parliament, while Mikheil Chkhenkeli was appointed as the Minister of Education and Science in November 2019.
