The Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee approved the Draft Code of Administrative Offenses

The Committee discussed two Drafts of the Code of Administrative Offenses; the first Draft, submitted by the First Deputy Head of the LEPL National Agency of Mines, Nana Zamtaradze, concerns the norms that stipulate the offenses committed in the mine utilization sphere.

As the Draft envisages, the person exempted from the license for extraction of mines shall be subject to the penalty of 2000 GEL instead of the currently established 500 GEL for utilizing the mines by violating the geo-information package and the regulations established for mining activity applicable in the country.

The Committee discussed yet another Draft of the Code of Administrative Offenses, introduced by the Head of the Legal Unit of the State Sub-Agency Department of the Environmental Supervision, Archil Adamia; the Draft establishes stricter sanctions for the violation of the regulations established on the hazardous substances in the vehicle emissions, and eliminates the gaps in the Code; a new Article is to be introduced regulating the administrative reprimands for the excessive hazardous substances in the vehicle emissions, namely, the offense will be subject to 100 GEL, the repeated violation within 30 days upon the first penalty will be subject to 300 GEL and the third offense within 60 days – 600 GEL.

The Committee approved the Drafts.
