President of Georgia considers the statement made by Speaker of the Parliament regarding the youth to be “completely unacceptable”.
“I find the last statement made by the Speaker of the Parliament about the youth completely unacceptable.
A government official may not approve of a form of protest, but that does not mean that his position gives him the right to insult his own citizens.
Such evaluations may only serve to intensify the tension and not to restore the necessary communication with the youth, which the government should try to do by all means, especially in the light of the recent events”, - writes Salome Zourabichvili.
Shalva Papuashvili, while speaking about the March 7-8 rallies, said that “politically agitated young people, who are paid GEL 1 000, are trying to make people objects of contempt with the coordination of the United National Movement”.
