The Prime Minister of Georgia marked World Down Syndrome Day by acknowledging the Government’s “obligation” to “create an equal environment where each member of the public will be able to realize their potential”.

“The date signified the world’s recognition of the right to live and develop in an equal and dignified environment.

The Georgian Government once again emphasizes the state’s constitutional obligation to create special conditions for realizing the rights and interests of persons with disabilities. The Government takes care to create an equal environment where each member of the public will be able to realize their potential.

It is the duty of the state to take care of the rights, health and development of people with Down syndrome.
