Two weeks have left before the April 29 extraordinary/by elections, and the Election Administration continues to actively work to ensure the elections are held at a high level, in accordance with international standards. As the CEC Spokesperson said, the elections of April 29 are of special importance, because this year electronic technologies will be used on a large scale for the first time.
“In line with the existing practice, the Election Administration offers voters a number of services for this election as well. I would like to remind you about the services and terms related to the procedure for requesting mobile box and adapted polling station.
In order to participate in the April 29 election, wheelchair voters participating in the by-election may request any adapted/accessible polling station within the territory of the relevant majoritarian electoral district. For this purpose, they should apply to the relevant District or Precinct Election Commission, or contact the CEC contact hub on phone number 2 51 00 51 and request the adapted Election Precinct of their choice no later than April 21, 18:00. Voters using wheelchairs who participate in Extraordinary Elections must go through the same procedure and within the same deadline. They have the opportunity to request any adapted/accessible polling station in the territory of the respective District Election Commission to participate in the elections.
A voter using a wheelchair can see detailed information and photos about the adapted/accessible polling stations within the territory of a particular electoral district on the “Election Map” posted on the CEC website. Information is available on the CEC website about 69 election precincts with simple adaptation and ramps, which will be operational for the April 29 elections. We want to address wheelchair voters, if they wish and need, to select the most convenient adapted polling station for them they should provide relevant information in time to the relevant election commission.
As for the information on requesting mobile ballot box, a voter who cannot go to the polling station due to health conditions and is in the territory of the same polling station, has the opportunity to request a portable ballot box. For this, the voter should apply to the relevant Precinct Election Commission before 18:00 on April 21. It is worth noting that for the first time in these elections, the voters who will vote through the mobile ballot box will go through marking procedure”, - explained Natia Ioseliani.
