Former Chairman of the United National Movement, Nika Melia, writes that he was “surprised” by UNM’s new management’s reaction over the new Tbilisi office, “which was opened due to the hard reality”.
“The office was opened due to the hard reality, to deal with the challenges that were put on the agenda not after the election of the party chairman (whom I recognized, congratulated, wished him to find the strength to rule the party with dignity and truth) but after the incredibly unfair congress that practically split the party in two.
After this “congress” too many members of the party (from the day of its foundation) remained outside the door of the party. Also too many associates who joined the UNM’s struggle not in the Government, but in the opposition - these people became unacceptable to the new management because of their position.
The situation of the party has worsened significantly, especially in Tbilisi. That is why we decided to continue consolidating the opposition opinion and fight for a common goal. The party management was informed about the office opened in Tbilisi and our goals”, - writes Nika Melia on Facebook.
