There are radical changes in the judicial system today compared to the period of the previous Government. Such a statement made today the Chairman of Georgian Dream.
“We have a radical change. What do you think caused this big change? Isn’t the reason for this that the judicial system has been freed from political control? Isn’t it because the judiciary is actually independent and judges are free from pressure?
This is the reality, regarding which I would like to ask a question - what was happening before 2012 and what has been happening after 2012?
Since 2012, the rate of pre-trial detention in Georgia has decreased 3 times. The rate of administrative detention has also decreased 3 times. The amount of fines issued to Georgian citizens is 5 times less.
The rate of bail decreased 18 times. Requests for investigative actions have decreased twice”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
