I am very glad that the majority of the population of Georgia thinks in a European way and aspires to the European Union, Christian Petry, a member of the European Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag, told journalists after a meeting with members of the European Integration Committee in the Parliament of Georgia.
“We met with our colleagues in the European Integration Committee and heard the evaluations that interested us regarding the 12 points that the European Union gave to Georgia.
We discussed various critical issues regarding depolarization, justice reform, public life. With these impressions, we will travel to Germany and hold a debate in our committee, then advice the German government in the decision-making phase. I personally wish that in a few years our European family will grow even more and that the countries aspiring to the EU will be given the opportunity to do so. I am glad to have met colleagues today and we have exchanged very good information.
I am very glad that the majority of the population of Georgia thinks in a European way and aspires to the EU, this is a very important factor apart from the factors represented by the government, economy and public life”, - said Christian Petry.
A delegation of the European Union Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag is present in the Parliament of Georgia. They have already held a meeting with the Chairman of the Parliament, and also met with the members of the European Integration Committee of the Georgian Parliament.
