Irakli Garibashvili meets IMF Middle East and Central Asia Department’s Mission Chief

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with James John, Mission Chief of the International Monetary Fund’s Middle East and Central Asia Department.

During the meeting, the country’s economic situation was discussed. It was noted that, after the crisis triggered by COVID-19, Georgia’s economy has been strongly on the rise and, despite global challenges, the dynamic above continues.

At the meeting with the IMF Mission Chief, the Prime Minister of Georgia discussed and emphasized the importance of the ongoing IMF program.

The Head of Government thanked James John for the International Monetary Fund’s firm support of Georgia’s structural, financial, and economic reforms. Irakli Garibashvili emphasized that the country remains committed to reforms.

The meeting was attended by Selim Cakir, IMF Resident Representative for Georgia.
