The Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili held a meeting with the Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Korea, Senior Secretary for Future Strategy Jang Sung Min.
The intensive links between Georgia and Korea, including the positive dynamics of high-level visits have been highlighted at the meeting. Speaker Papuashvili underlined that Georgia and Korea support the order-based international order and thanked the Korean side for supporting the territorial integrity of Georgia. The parties overviewed the Georgia-Korea bilateral relations, including the opening of the Embassy of Korea in Georgia, admission of direct flights, visa-free travel and free trade opportunities.
The importance of the Nenskra hydropower plant project for further enhancement of Georgia-Korea relations was emphasized. The conversation touched upon the war in Ukraine and the parties stressed the importance of ending the war in the nearest future for the benefit of Ukraine.
Jang Sung Min delivered the information on the foreign political priorities of the President of Korea to Shalva Papuashvili and noted that Korea is committed to further intensifying cooperation with Georgia.
