The Delegation of the Committee, headed by Nikoloz Samkharadze serves the visit to London, and as a part of the visit, Georgian MPs participated in the Round Table organized by the Henry Jackson Society.
The event was as well attended by up to 15 British experts and analysts. The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee overviewed the foreign policy priorities of Georgia, peaceful policy on restoration of territorial integrity, NATO and EU integration, regional security and economic and energy security issues.
The speech by Samkharadze was followed by a discussion. The British experts and analysts asked about the Russian disinformation campaign conducted by Russia in Georgia and the methods applied by Russia. The attendees touched upon the situation in the region and the ways to address the security challenges of Georgia. The questions were as well concerning the Ukrainian refugees finding shelter in Georgia and the Russian citizens.
“At the meeting, we overviewed our wider region including the Black Sea, South Caucasus and Central Asia. We underlined the value of Georgia as playing the key and leading role in the region and informed our British colleagues about our stance concerning the future of the region”, - added Nikoloz Samkharadze.
