In July, 45 summer kindergartens will serve up to 17 000 municipal kindergarten kids. Such a statement made today the Mayor of Tbilisi.

“We have important news about kindergartens. During the pandemic, because of the challenges of that time, the summer kindergartens did not function. This year we have made a decision, and the kindergartens will be functioning during the summer. We have considered the appeal of the parents of the kindergarten children, as many families are not able to take vacations and leave the city during July, as they have to work. Of course, we will support these families in every possible way. In July, 45 kindergartens will serve up to 17 000 municipal kindergarten kids. Summer kindergartens are selected by territorial principle so that they are as accessible as possible throughout the city. E-registration will start on June 20 and will last until June 30. Another priority group will join the registration process in Tbilisi kindergartens in 2023-2024 school year. The registration process prioritizes certain social groups. The children of municipal kindergarten workers will join these groups, because these people need support and conditions to fulfill their duties to the fullest, just like members of any other professions.

In addition, the rules of enrollment in kindergartens will be changed. In the first stage, the children representing priority social groups will be registered, in the second stage, the children registered in the territory of Tbilisi Municipality will be registered, while the third stage is the universal registration. We will apply to Tbilisi City Municipal Assembly for the mentioned changes and after approval we will start the registration process in July.

It should be noted that the Municipality continues to build the kindergartens of modern standards. In September, 3 new kindergartens will appear in Tbilisi. In total, at this stage, 10 kindergartens are under construction and two are being completely renovated”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
