Ian Borg, Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of Malta, OSCE Chairman country, met with Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili in Tbilisi.
The sides discussed OSCE’s participation in the Geneva International Discussions, the situation across Georgia’s occupied Abkhazia ad Tskhinvali regions, the significance of adopting the law On Transparency of Foreign Influence, the Government’s readiness to take into account the remarks of international partners within veto procedures.
They also focused on the upcoming parliamentary elections. Ilia Darchiashvili stressed that the Government aims to hold transparent, free and fair elections in line with international standards. As he said, Government would assist the international election observers in fulfilling their duties efficiently. The sides agreed on the continuation of cooperation.
