The first technical studies for the possible construction of a new airport to start in Vaziani

Within the framework of the Tbilisi New International Airport development project, active work is underway to prepare technical studies.

According to the Deputy Minister of Economy, Mariam Kvrivishvili, the work on the expansion plan of the existing Tbilisi airport has already been completed, and the Ministry has, in fact, a complete picture of the possibilities and limitations of its expansion.

As she added, the first technical studies to explore Vaziani as an alternative location for the new airport are also starting.

Airport Competence GmbH, one of the best consulting companies in the world"s aviation industry, will conduct the first technical studies of possible airport development opportunities in Vaziani.

Mariam Kvrivishvili held a working meeting with the company"s representatives today at the Ministry of Economy, which was also attended by the heads of United Airports of Georgia.
