Responsibility for torture and cruel treatment of animals becomes stricter

Responsibility for torture and cruel treatment of animals becomes stricter. Besides, the Parliament discussed for the III reading and adopted the Draft Code of Administrative Offenses with 76 votes, increasing the penalty for walking a dog without a leash or muzzle in public areas, including in boulevards, parks or squares from 20 to 150 GEL.

The repeated offense within a year upon the first penalty shall be subject to the fine of 300 GEL instead of 50.

The sanctions get stricter for the presence of the livestock unattended/attended in administrative borders of the municipal city with violation of the regulations established under a representative body of a city, other than the events when the livestock is on the agricultural land plot under the private property of the owner and in boulevards, parks, squares or beaches unattended.
