In 2022, an attack on a state-political official of Georgia was being prepared, and preventive measures were taken to prevent the execution of that intention. This is stated in the State Security Service’s report for 2022.
“In 2022, the State Security Department of the Service launched an investigation into 3 criminal cases, including on the fact of preparing an attack on a Georgian state-political official, on which relevant preventive measures were taken to prevent the execution of the said intention”, - reads the report.
The annual report will be discussed by the 3 committees of the Parliament - Defense and Security, Legal Issues and Human Rights Protection - at a joint session on July 7.
The Head of the SSG will be heard within the framework of an extraordinary session.
