On October 1, elections will be held to elect the majoritarian MP of Gori-Kaspi and the Mayor of Gurjaani

The Central Election Commission will discuss today the issue of appointing by-elections of the Parliament and extraordinary elections of the Mayor of Gurjaani. According to the agenda of the session, elections will be held on October 1, to elect the majoritarian MP of Gori-Kaspi and the Mayor of Gurjaani. The majoritarian MP of Gori-Kaspi Giorgi Khojevanishvili and the mayor of Gurjaani Zurab Utiashvili left their positions before expiring the term of their office.

The Election Administration is ready to administer the elections in full compliance with the legislation, ensure its transparency and manage it at a high professional level. Electronic technologies will be used on a large scale in these elections, which will allow us to observe and study all the issues related to the use of technologies in practice.

A total of 133 polling stations will be opened for the by/extraordinary elections. Voting using voter verification, voting and counting machines will be held at 103 polling stations and 85.3% of the total number of voters will participate in it. Voting in the rest of the election precincts will be held in the traditional manner, however, the ballot papers will be digitized, uploaded to the appropriate secure platform and will be available to all interested parties.
