The First Vice-Speaker, Giorgi Volski; the Chair of the Defense and Security Committee, Irakli Beraia; and Majority MPs paid tribute to the Georgian soldiers heroically fallen in August War 2008 at Shindisi. MP laid a wreath on the Memorial to the Shindisi Heroes on behalf of the Parliament.
“Georgia mourns for these heroes, our valiant warriors. On the other hand, the feeling that Georgia is the country where such prominent sons are born intensifies pride in our souls since our foes and enemies will never find it easy to defeat our country, to put Georgia on its knees. These boys, and every soldier or civilian fallen in the war gave their lives to create our history! Glory to their names!”, - said Gia Volski.
Majority MPs met with the family members and friends of the Shindisi heroes and once again, recalled their heroic sacrifice.
“Today, we commemorate Shindisi heroes, we pay tribute to their heroism. Their history is a model of heroism and devotion, when our brave warriors, even in the disproportionate battle, managed to inflict immense damage to the enemies, while sacrificing their lives and falling as heroes. Our future generations will never forget their sacrifice and their names. The heroism of our boys, our army stands as a guarantee that Georgia will never kneel to the enemy. We, resorting to the peaceful way, will unify our country and make it integral again”, - said Irakli Beraia.
