The European Union should be ready to receive new members by 2030. This statement of Charles Michel, European Council President, is the topic of political discussion in Tbilisi.
The opposition says that this is a historic chance for Georgia to gain not only candidate status, but full membership in 2030.
Khatia Dekanoidze, a member of the parliamentary political group “Eurooptimists”, notes that the European Union is well aware of the political will of the Georgian people.
“The European Union knows best what the Georgian people want and what is the political will of the Georgian people.
Georgia has certain obligations to fulfill. If these reforms are carried out, it is important to get the status of a candidate”, - said Khatia Dekanoidze.
