If anyone is ready for EU membership in 2030, it will be Georgia due to the policy, which our government carries out. Such a statement made today the Chairman of the Georgian Dream.
“Naming the year 2030 was interesting because some countries received candidate status 12-18 years ago but are not members yet.
As for Georgia, the country does its best to receive the status.
We have progress in the fulfillment of 12-point recommendations, and the process will be completed in the near future. We will be upfront to being granted candidate status in December. The political decision is always 50/50, but let us see”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
Yesterday the European Council President Charles Michel said that “the European Union must be ready to admit new member states by 2030”: “We will take a stand on the opening of negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova, and I also expect Bosnia and Herzegovina and Georgia to be back on the table”.
