Georgia handed over the accused in the murder of Serbian mafia leader Jovan Vukotić to Turkey

According to the Istanbul prosecutor’s office, one of the key participants in the murder of the alleged leader of the “Skaljar clan” Jovan Vukotić, Jakup Dogan, has been extradited to Turkey, NTV reported.

Dogan was extradited to Turkey from Georgia, where he was arrested on a red Interpol warrant.

According to the indictment, Dogan was driving the motorcycle from which Vukotić was shot in September last year in Istanbul. According to NTV, he was extradited to Turkey on July 11.

Members of a criminal organization led by Bariš Neko were accused of directly participating in the murder of Vukotić, and after Dogan fled abroad, a red warrant was issued, and he was caught in Georgia on October 5, 2022. The defendant was handed over to the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime in Istanbul at the Artvin Sarp border crossing, writes RTCG portal.

Vukotić was killed on September 8 last year in Šišlji. While he was in the car with the driver, his unmarried wife and child, Emircan Š approached him on a motorbike, according to the indictment. and Jakup D., the first of whom killed Vukotić, and the second was driving the vehicle.

The indictment covers 16 people, among whom are the accused high-ranking members of the “Kavak clan” Radoje Živković Žuti, Milan Vujotić and Zdravko Perunović, as well as Turkish citizens, reports the RTCG portal. According to the indictment, the murder of Jovan Vukotić was paid EUR 1,5 million.
