In view of the tightened migration policy in Great Britain, the country has strengthened its border controls. Such a statement was released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
“Taking into account the aforementioned, from September 8, 2023, the obligation to get a transit visa (DATV) has been introduced for citizens of Georgia.
This category of visa is required when a person travels to a 3rd country, changes flights in the United Kingdom and does not go through border checks. It should be noted that due to the tightened immigration policy, the UK has introduced transit visa regime with more than 100 countries, including countries such as: Moldova, Ukraine, Turkey, North Macedonia, South Africa, China, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Montenegro, Bosnia and others”, - reads the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
