The Speaker of the Georgian Parliament met with the President of the Senate of Romania, Nicolae Ciucă. ShalPapuashvili thanked the host country for the intact and unwavering support of the territorial integrity and European future of Georgia.
The parties deliberated on the Georgia-Romania strategic partnership.
The Speaker underlined the particular merit of Mr. Ciucă in the enhancement of the Georgia-Romania relations. The discourse included parliamentary ties, as well as cooperation in the spheres of economy and energy.
The emphasis was placed on the projects to boost the connectivity in the Black Sea and facilitate the energy independence of the EU. In this regard, Mr. Ciucă stated that the hereof strategic projects will highly contribute to the bilateral relations. He highlighted the beneficial geographic location of Georgia as a bridge between Europe and Asia.
The Speaker provided detailed information on the progress of Georgia on the EU and NATO integration path and underlined the importance of further support of Romania to Georgia in this historical period.
The President of the Senate gave a positive assessment of the reforms undertaken by Georgia and stressed that it is paramount for the EU and NATO to recognize and value the progress of Georgia and its contribution to international missions. He stated that Romania aspires to keep supporting Georgia on the EU and NATO accession road.
