The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament said it was important for the international community and Western partners to condemn Russia’s plans to establish a naval military base in Ochamchire.
Nikoloz Samkharadze evaluated the declarations adopted by the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, where the bloc’s members condemned the alleged plans and said it posed a threat of future destabilisation in the Black Sea region.
“The reported information is another very serious violation of Georgia’s territorial integrity that violated the August 12, 2008 ceasefire agreement between the two countries. That’s why it is important for the international community and Western partners to condemn Russia’s plans to establish a naval military base in Ochamchire”, - added MP.
