In 2022, the average monthly nominal earnings of employees increased by 18.3 percent (238.5 Gel) compared to 2021 and amounted to 1 543.0 Gel, reads the report of GeoStat.

In 2022, compared to the previous year, an increase in wages was recorded in all sectors. According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in the following fields:

• Information and communication – 3 033.4 Gel (increased by 49.4% compared to the previous year).
• Financial and insurance activities – 2 730.0 Gel (increased by 15.3% compared to the previous year);
• Professional, scientific and technical activities – 2 285.0 Gel (increased by 10.1% compared to the previous year).

In 2022, the average monthly earnings equaled to 1 247.7 Gel for women, while - 1 827.0 Gel for men. The annual growth of earnings amounted to 192.2 GEL (18.2%) for women and 289.1 Gel (18.8%) for men, respectively. In the majority of sectors of the economic activities, the average monthly earnings of men were higher compared to women.

In 2022, the average monthly nominal earning of employees in the public sector was 389.5 Gel lower compared to the employees in the non-public sector. In addition, compared to 2021, the average monthly earning was increased by 15.1% in the public sector, while it was increased by 18.9% in the non-public sector and amounted to 1 285.6 and 1 675.1 Gel, respectively.

In 2022, the average monthly earnings of employees in the business sector increased by 258.3 Gel (19.2%) and equaled to 1 605.9 Gel. According to the economic activity, the highest monthly earnings were observed in the Information and communication (3 113.8 Gel, increased by 52.2% compared to the previous year) and in the Professional, scientific and technical activities (2 601.7 Gel, increased by 10.9% compared to the previous year) sectors.

In 2022, the average monthly earnings of employees in the non-business and financial sector increased by 195.5 Gel (15.9%) compared to the previous year and amounted to 1 423.5 Gel. According to the economic activity, the highest monthly earnings was observed in the Financial and insurance activities sector. Tbilisi and Mtscheta-Mtianeti are leading regions by amount of the average earnings.
