Georgian Prime Minister meets USAID Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia Erin McKee

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Erin McKee, Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

At the meeting, the existing and future cooperation between the two countries was emphasized, including in the trade and economic directions. Areas where the joint partnership between Georgia and the US can be strengthened were discussed. Also, emphasis was placed on the importance of the strategic partnership between Georgia and the US, and the need to deepen it was underscored.

The conversation in the meeting held at the Government Administration touched on Georgia’s steps toward EU membership. The Prime Minister underlined that the country will do everything to achieve its goal of becoming an EU member.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador of the US to Georgia Robin Dunnigan, USAID Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia Erin Elizabeth McKee, USAID Mission Director in Georgia John Pennell, the US Embassy’s Deputy Chief of Mission’s Political-Economic Affairs Aaron Rupert, while the Georgian side was represented by Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili.
