For centuries, the Azerbaijani and Georgian people have lived in friendly, peaceful states, based on cultural relations of historical roots. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan at the opening ceremony of the construction of the Tbilisi Azerbaijani State Drama Theater named after Heydar Aliyev.
“The culture, language, traditions and literature of the Azerbaijani people are highly valued in Georgia.
The revival of the Tbilisi Azerbaijani State Drama Theater in modern style is a historic event. The late President Heydar Aliyev had friendly relations with neighbouring countries, especially with Georgia, dating to President Eduard Shevardnadze’s era.
Now, current President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili continue this rich historical tradition of friendly relations developing national interests of our independent countries democratically.
The opening of the Tbilisi Azerbaijani State Drama Theater coincides with the 100th birthday anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
