Presidential Administration tells Chinese Ambassador Zourabichvili’s remarks not linked to Georgia-China relations

Natia Sulava, the Head of the Administration of the President of Georgia, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Georgia.

“At the meeting held in the Orbeliani palace, the head of the Presidential Administration stated that in the interview given to the TV company LCI, in the answer of Salome Zourabichvili, there was no reference in any way to the relations between Georgia and China or, specifically, to the President of China.

The President of Georgia, when asked in an interview with LCI if she “hopes that Putin and also Xi Jinping will ever be tried”, answered that in her inner belief, it “would be a historic result, which would put certain issues in their place”: “I believe in my inner belief that this would be a historic result, which would put certain issues in their place. If you ask me if I think this is realistic, no”.
