The Special Investigation Service arrested one person for the fact of installing and monitoring eavesdropping devices for his ex-wife.

The investigation established that the defendant (born in 1979, living in Tbilisi) secretly installed eavesdropping devices with SIM cards in the living room and bedroom of his ex-wife"s apartment and illegally monitored the private communications of the victims by making phone calls to them for months.

After the victim woman’s report, the Special Investigation Service conducted the investigative activities with full protection of her confidentiality.

The accused was arrested for the crime under Article 158 (1) of the Criminal Code of Georgia based on the court’s decision.

The crime shall be punished by imprisonment for a term of up to 4 years. The case investigation continues.
