The EU candidate status is a very big victory. A victory for the Georgian people, and it is the Georgian people who deserve this status the most, said Georgian Dream Chairman Irakli Kobakhidze.

Kobakhidze thanked the Prime Minister, the government, and the EU and US Ambassadors to Georgia.

“We faced many difficulties, people faced lots of challenges and problems, but we worked hard and overcame them to achieve our goal, the EU candidate status. I would like to express my gratitude to all those who were involved in this process. Thanks to the Prime Minister, the government, colleagues, and MPs, who did everything to obtain this status. Thanks to our friends and partners, many people were rooting for our country, special thanks to EU Ambassador Pawel Herczynski, who did a lot to ensure that we celebrated today. Thank you to the ambassadors of EU member states. I would like to express special gratitude to the US Ambassador, who has been a special supporter of our country,” Kobakhidze said.
