Information as if our citizens will be made to leave Germany and deported immediately after the signing of the “Migration and Mobility” agreement is completely false - Gomelauri

The information spread about the expulsion of Georgian citizens from Germany immediately after the signing of the agreement with Germany on “Migration and Mobility” is a lie. Such a statement made today the Minister of Internal Affairs.

“The Agreement on Migration and Mobility was signed between Germany and Georgia. The draft agreement includes provisions on the following issues: reduction of illegal migration, cooperation in the field of circular labor migration, sharing of experience in the educational field.

In the direction of reducing illegal migration, it is mentioned that the parties will prevent and fight against illegal migration and its promotion, human trafficking, and the misuse of trafficking documents and visas.

Also, it strengthens cooperation in the process of living without permission and readmission. The focus is on the reintegration of returned migrants and their active protection from discrimination. It is also necessary to conduct information campaigns for Georgian citizens in Germany.

The draft agreement envisages promotion of orderly migration of labor force and skilled labor force. Expanding opportunities for Georgians to start their activities in the German labor market. Work visas, which are a problem, will be simplified from today. The information was spread in a different way, as if from today our citizens will be made to leave, expelled... This is a lie!

Readmission has been carried out for years. The information that our citizens will be made to leave Germany and be expelled from the country right after it is signed is a complete lie. Readmission has been carried out for years and will continue”, - explained Vakhtang Gomelauri.
