The National Statistics Office [GeoStat] of Georgia summarized 2023 year. According to the Executive Director of GeoStat, the Georgian economy grew by 6.9% in 2023 based on the last 11 months’ data.
As Gogita Todradze pointed out, trade, construction, finance, insurance, and information and communication technologies experienced growth, whereas the procession industry declined.
He compared Georgia’s economic increase to neighbouring countries, highlighting that the growth for the same period in Azerbaijan was 0.8%, in Belarus – 3.8%, the 9-month increase in Turkey was 4.6%, and 2.8% in Russia.
