Starting from the current month, 11,188 employees of all public kindergartens in Tbilisi will receive a 15% higher salary. Such a statement made today the Mayor of the capital.
“According to the decision of Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, the salary of employees in public agencies increases by 10% every year. According to the decision of the municipality government, starting from the current month, 11,188 employees of all public kindergartens in Tbilisi will receive a 15% higher salary. These are the people who are engaged in very important time-consuming and responsible work. The salary of these people is very low. Since 2017, when for the first time the majority of the Tbilisi population chose us, one of the main directions has been the arrangement of the existing infrastructure. When talking about kids, the next generation, there will always be an effort to get an education in a normal environment.
I also want to inform you that since 2017 we have been able to build 23 new kindergartens, we have rehabilitated 11 kindergartens. We are not limited to this, we continue to work and you can see what kind of standard we have introduced in terms of the infrastructure of the kindergartens. It can be said that many European, modern cities can be envious of such infrastructure that we are making. This standard will be maintained.
The construction of new kindergartens and the rehabilitation of dilapidated buildings continue. In 2024, out of 10 ongoing projects, seven new gardens will be opened and the rehabilitation of three will be completed. On January 15, the 89th kindergarten contingent will return to the rehabilitated building. By the end of the month, a new - N64 kindergarten - will be opened in Samgori district, in the so-called Africa settlement.
As a result of these projects, the number of children and staff is increasing. At this stage, there are 189 public kindergartens in Tbilisi, which serve up to 60,000 kids”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
