Georgian Prime Minister met with Paata Kalandadze, newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the People’s Republic of China. In the meeting the key directions of the strategic partnership between the two countries and the priorities in the relations with China were discussed.
Focus was made on the Irakli Garibashvili’s successful visit to China last year, during which the successful cooperation between the countries advanced to the level of a strategic partnership. The Prime Minister and the newly appointed Ambassador discussed issues pertaining to the implementation of the plans set during said visit.
Garibashvili congratulated Paata on his appointment to a new position and wished him success in his future endeavors. For his part, Paata Kalandadze thanked the Head of Government for declared trust.
Paata Kalandadze has years-long diplomatic experience. In different years, he held various positions at the Foreign Ministry, having served as Georgia"s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, and the State of Israel. Before his appointment as Ambassador to China, he served as Ambassador of Georgia to the United Arab Emirates.
The Prime Minister also met with Archil Dzuliashvili, newly appointed Ambassador of Georgia to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Libya, and Iraq.
At the meeting, the relations between Jordan and Georgia were discussed. The conversation touched on the importance of constructing a center of Georgian culture in Jordan. It was not that the design for the construction of a center of Georgian culture by the Jordan River was approved at the Governmental Commission"s meeting in December 2023. The Head of Government congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to a new position and wished him success in his future endeavors.
Previously, Archil Dzuliashvili held the position of Georgia’s Ambassador to India, which also covered Bangladesh, Thailand, Nepal, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka. He also has served as Georgia’s Permanent Representative to the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
At different times, he held the position of Special Assignment Ambassador, also having served as Georgia’s Ambassador to Egypt, which also covered Tunisia, Libya, and Syria. He has served as Georgia’s Representative to the League of Arab States and the African Union, also having held the position of Senior Adviser to Georgia’s Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, the Sultanate of Oman, and the UAE. He has also worked as Deputy Director of the Department of Eastern Affairs at the Foreign Ministry of Georgia and later as Deputy Director of the Global Relations Department, also having served as Consul at Georgia’s Embassy in Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic, having worked as First Secretary of the Authority for the Countries of the Near East and Africa at the Department of the Countries of Asia, Africa, Australia, and Oceania, followed by the position of Deputy Director of the same department. He has also served as Attaché and First Secretary of the Authority for the Countries of Africa and the Near East at the Department of the Countries of Asia, Africa, Australia, and Oceania. In 2015, he was awarded the highest diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
Besides, Irakli Garibashvili met with Noshrevan Lomtatidze, newly appointed Ambassador to the State of Kuwait. At the meeting, the Prime Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to a new position and wished him success in his future endeavors.
The conversation focused on the importance of further deepening bilateral relations across a variety of fields, including in the trade and economic directions.
In 2021, Noshrevan Lomtatidze was awarded the diplomatic rank of Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. Since June 2021, he has worked as Director of the Department of International Economic Relations at the Foreign Ministry of Georgia. Noshrevan Lomtatidze graduated from Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University, majoring in international relations, while receiving an academic master’s degree from Columbia University, majoring in public administration.
