The Head of the Special Investigation Service, Koka Katsitadze and the First Deputy, Giorgi Kvaratskhelia held working meetings with representatives of regional units in Kutaisi, Batumi, and Zugdidi.
At the meetings, the Head of the Special Investigation Service discussed the shortcomings and trends determined in the activities of the law enforcement officers, as well as the priorities of the Action Plan.
Koka Katsitadze listened carefully to all the problematic issues that arise in the investigative work process at the regional level and require the implementation of necessary measures to solve them.
One of the main priorities of the Service in 2024, which the service implements within the framework of the mandate, is the prevention of the official misconduct with recommendations issued to law enforcement agencies and through a specially created prevention council.
The purpose of the Special Prevention Council of some official misconduct created by the initiative of the Special Investigation Service is to identify the challenges raised in the process of investigation, elaborate the prevention mechanisms, plan the joint measures and implement agreed recommendations in practice.
“One of the functions of the Special Investigation Service is to elaborate recommendations to the law enforcement institutions, along with conducting effective investigations in the process of combating ill-treatment. For this purpose, we have initiated the working meetings in the regional units in Kutaisi, Batumi and Zugdidi, where we get to know on the spot all the problems, challenges and trends raised in the activities of law enforcement officers, which will be reflected in our annual report; and it is the most important that to solve this problems, we will work jointly with the law enforcement agencies in the Prevention Council format”, - said Koka Katsitadze.
