Georgian musician, composer Vazha Azarashvili passed away at the age of 87. The Creative Union of Georgian Composers confirmed this information.
Vazha Azarashvili graduated from Vano Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatory in 1961.
In 1961, he graduated from the post-graduate course of the conservatory under Iona Tuskia, and then under the leadership of prof. Andria Balanchivadze. Since 1961, Vazha Azarashvili has been engaged in pedagogical activities in parallel with his creative work.
The composer dedicated many songs to his native Tbilisi, including “Tbilisi Lyrical”, “Song of Tbilisi”, “Song of Metekhi”, his songs “Music”, “Days go by”, “Little girl”, “Dinamo, Dinamo!, etc.
He was awarded many honorary titles and prizes for his contribution to Georgian art.
