The fact that today Georgia has democracy, peace, economic progress and Georgia has become a candidate country for EU membership is primarily, first of all, is a merit of Bidzina Ivanishvili, said the prime ministerial candidate Irakli Kobakhidze in his speech in the Parliament.
“The systemic crime committed against the state at that time, the anti-European-style authoritarianism, was ended in 2012 by Bidzina Ivanishvili whom the Georgian society had previously known for the unprecedented philanthropy carried out to revive Georgian culture and spirituality, to preserve our national identity.
It is the result of Bidzina Ivanishvili"s political philanthropy that the current government of Georgia is the only government after the restoration of independence, during which the country did not have a war.
Bidzina Ivanishvili put the country"s economic policy on the right track, as a result of which, after 2012, despite two global and economic crises, the Georgian economy grew from 27 billion GEL to 80 billion GEL, and the country"s combined budget increased from 8.5 billion GEL to 28.7 billion GEL. The social security packages of the population have been expanded unprecedentedly.
It is the result of the democratic transition of 2012 that during the past years, Georgia has made unprecedented progress in the direction of European integration, signed the association agreement and the free trade agreement with the European Union, in addition, the country adopted the visa-free travel regime, and last year, it was granted the status of a candidate country for the European Union membership.
For all this, special thanks go to Bidzina Ivanishvili”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
