The Chair of the Defense and Security Committee, Irakli Beraia held a meeting with the Chairman of the European Union Military Committee, General Robert Brieger, serving the visit to Georgia and deliberated on the regional security milieu.
“It was an interesting meeting with the Chairman of the EUMC. We discussed the regional security environment and the Georgia-EU cooperation in the defense sphere. Notably, our cooperation in the defense and security sphere is of utmost importance and is enhanced daily within various programs. The EU peace-building instrument is yet another key mechanism facilitating the bolstering of the national defense capacity of Georgia. The central topics of our conversation were further intensifying the Georgia-EU cooperation in the defense sphere, achieving the objectives envisaged within the EU strategic compass and implementing the priorities”, - said Irakli Beraia.
The meeting with the four-star General was attended by the First Deputy Chair of the Committee, Alexander Tabatadze, the Deputy Chief of the Defense Staff of Georgia, the representative of the Defense Ministry to NATO and EU, and the members of the EUMC Committee.
