The Minister of Defense, Irakli Chikovani, held an introductory meeting with US Ambassador Robin Dunnigan at the Ministry.

He praised the US for providing strong political and practical support to Georgia. The discussions encompassed various aspects of cooperation in security and defence, outlining plans within the Georgia - US strategic partnership.

The parties discussed the efforts to enhance defence capabilities, the significance of international exercises, Georgia’s substantial contribution to international security and the NATO-Georgia cooperation. Both parties expressed optimism about the continued strengthening of fruitful cooperation.

Robin Dunnigan underlined the significance of defence and security cooperation in the broader US-Georgia strategic partnership. She congratulated the new Minister on his appointment and discussed plans for collaboration to reinforce Georgia’s defence capabilities.
