Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia meets Minister of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia held a meeting with Khalid A. Al-Falih, Minister of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today.

Meeting was focused on bilateral cooperation in various directions. Avenues and prospects were discussed for deepening the partnership further, inter alia in the realm of trade and economy. It was noted that a Georgia-Saudi Arabia Business Forum currently held in Tbilisi will facilitate a further development of bilateral cooperation.

Focus was also made at the meeting on the favorable investment environment and potential of Georgia. Irakli Kobakhidze highlighted that the Government of Georgia will assist the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in fruitful cooperation towards attracting investments.

It was noted at the meeting that Georgia expresses readiness to actively work on the Agreement by and between Saudi Arabia and Georgia on the Promotion and Protection of Investments, as well as on the resumption of negotiations on free trade.

Meeting held within the Government Administration was attended by Salman Al Ashaikh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Georgia; Badr AlBadr, Deputy Minister of Investments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Georgian attendees included Levan Davitashvili, First Vice-Prime Minister / Minister of Economy; Nikoloz Revazishvili, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Ilia Shamugia, Deputy Head of Government Administration.
